Cyber Guardians Project

“Keeping Children Safe Online”
Program overview

Online safety for children

The Cyber Guardians Project by PinkCode Uganda is a child online safety initiative designed to protect and empower learners in the digital age. In a world where children are increasingly exposed to cyberbullying, online predators, misinformation, and harmful content, Cyber Guardians equips them with the knowledge, values, and resilience to navigate the internet responsibly and safely. Unlike standard ICT lessons that mainly focus on technical skills, Cyber Guardians emphasizes cyber wellness, digital ethics, and online safety through age-appropriate, interactive workshops — using gamified lessons, real-life case studies, role-plays, and a unique peer-to-peer mentorship model where trained student champions ("Cyber Guardians") lead and support their peers.

The project takes a whole-school approach by engaging teachers, parents, and the wider community. It offers capacity‑building workshops, parental awareness sessions, and campaigns that foster a culture of safe and balanced technology use — both at school and at home.

Through partnerships with schools and organizations, the Cyber Guardians Project is pioneering child online protection in Uganda — ensuring that children aged 3–18 benefit from the digital world while safeguarding their innocence, well‑being, and future.
